Dr. Kate McKechnie was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. In 2006, she graduated from Northwestern University, receiving her BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in physiology. Dr. McKechnie then moved to New York for a graduate program in physical therapy at Long Island University-Brooklyn. In 2014 she graduated top of her class with the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

During Dr. McKechnie’s first few years following graduation, she attended continuing education courses through the Institute of Physical Art and was accepted to sit for a certification exam. Passing with Honors, she became a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) in 2016. Additionally, Dr. McKechnie completed coursework with Kinetacore (now Evidence In Motion) to become certified in Functional Dry Needling.

Starting in 2016, Dr. McKechnie began The Pelvic Floor Series with Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Women’s Health Rehabilitation has become a passion in her physical therapy practice. Dr. McKechnie loves helping women gain a deeper understanding of their pelvic floor and how it functions with the rest of the body. She believes her comprehensive knowledge, as well as a holistic style of assessment and treatment of the whole body is integral to how she assists clients in resolving and managing their movement-related dysfunctions and maintaining general wellness.

Dr. Dana Podell graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in 2021. During her studies, she completed additional course work and an intensive clinical internship in the treatment of pelvic health. As a prerequisite to her clinical internship, Dana completed the Pelvic Floor training with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation institute as well as additional coursework in pregnancy & postpartum care and manual therapy to the abdominal wall.

Prior to becoming a licensed physical therapist, Dana was a dancer for many years and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The Ohio State University. Following her dancing days, Dana pursued the path of yoga after experiencing many of her own personal injuries. Now, she is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and shares her passion for therapeutic yoga in every physical therapy treatment session. Since becoming a yoga teacher, Dana has completed a certification in yoga therapy techniques for spinal health. She is also currently studying to become a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Association of Yoga Therapist with expected completion in 2025.

Dana provides compassionate care while cultivating mutual trust and understanding with her patients. Her unique approach to care is aimed to treat the whole person, because she understands that addressing the body holistically results in long-term sustainable health.
